Rooney Mara will be Lisbeth Salander

The Girl has been chosen! The much-anticpated American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has officially casted Mara as the film’s female protagonist, opposite Daniel Craig’s Mikael Blomkvist.

Thoughts on this choice? There has been intense critique over the choice, saying that a more experience actress would be necessary for the demanding role. I, however, am thrilled that they have chosen a lesser known face to play Salander. But really. Is Mara going to shave her head for the role? Doubtful! I hope she can commit.

Many fans of the books are skeptical of the remake altogether. Mad love for the Swedish film version has caused everyone to think this version can’t measure up to Noomi Rapace’s performance…. I shall rent it tonight and let you all know my opinion!

In the meantime, I can’t wait for filming to begin! Keep your eyes and ears open, people.
